Group Therapy

In Group Therapy, one or more therapists work with several people at the same time. Within the group, the expectations of privacy and confidentiality are the same as with individual therapy, and a group is typically comprised of individuals with similar interests and concerns. Clients often participate in both individual and group therapy, but this is not always the case.

Group Therapy has many benefits that are unique to working in this way.  The group may contain members at different stages of the therapeutic process, and seeing people who are coping or recovering can give hope to those at the beginning of the process. Likewise, being part of a group of people who have similar experiences helps people see that they are not alone, and that the experiences of other group members can be a valuable resource on their own journey.
